Poro Point Province of La Union

It's been a year since we travelled to the Heritage Province of Ilocos Sur to experience "Santorini" at Vitalis Villas, a 5-star accommodation amenities, nestled at the peaceful and serene place of Santiago Cove. Since it was again my special day, I thought of bringing the family to another site similar to Vitalis Villas. When we visited Vitalis Villas, some family members were not able to join and so in this trip, everyone joined the adventure.

Family members from Isabela travelled to Manila a day prior to Nov 1 holiday. Our pickup point was at home in Sampaloc Manila.

At around eight in the morning, we onboarded the van and headed towards north happily and excited. The destination was a secret at first to keep the level of excitement.

We were heading to Poro Point in the province of La Union, known as the surfing capital of the Philippines to experience another 5-star accommodation amenities and also another taste of "Santorini" at ThunderBird Resort.

Some of my outdoor friends had been talking about their experiences and some had recommended paying visit to the resort. That was several years ago. This trip and adventure confirmed some of my expectations.

We had stop over along NLEX to rest and refuel. It was a relaxing drive. Poro Point is around 275 KM from home in Manila and 6.5H drive on a private vehicle.

We had an ice crem treat along the way and finally had lunch in La Union along the highway at Rafon Resto Grill around 12NN and then left the place around 1PM and drove to Poro Point.

It was a surprise to everyone and the place ready made us feel of "Santorini". We completed our check-in at the resort at 1:30PM.

We checked-out on Nov 2 and headed back home at Sampaloc Manila. Along the way, we had a side trip at Lakeshore at Mexico, Pampanga.
